The Northern Lights Were Visible In Belarus Last Night

Photos from Shchuchin and the Vitebsk Region have surfaced.

The aurora was visible in Belarus on the night of September 8. Photos of this atmospheric optical phenomenon were published by the Telegram channel “Meteovibe”.

The aurora was seen in Shchuchin.

And in Lintupy in the Vitebsk Region.

The aurora occurs when charged particles from the solar wind interact with the Earth’s magnetic field and the upper layers of its atmosphere. In Belarus, it can be seen during fairly strong geomagnetic storms, when the aurora zone shifts significantly farther south than usual.
