A journalist of the state newspaper “Shakhter” (Miner) prompted a Saligorsk dweller to write slogan “Freedom for Kazulin” on the fence.
Recently “Shakhter” has criticised the local opposition. The article by Zmiter Abramychau “Who is guilty?” said how “men and women from the opposition” defend juvenile delinquents. They are allegedly writing slogans on fences and buildings, being caught and brought to responsibility. But bad oppositionists make “victims of the regime” of them.
Then Zmiter Abramychau advised the “unconscientious graffiti artists” to go and paint with slogans the villas of oppositionists. Let they enjoy it!”
The article “Who is guilty?” by Z. Abramychau aroused a reaction.
– I’ve understood everything, I’m not a fool, –Alyaksandr Tsetsura, leader of the local entrepreneurs, member of the United Civil Party, said Bulletinonline.org after reading the article. – Why wait for something inevitable? I’d better do it myself. Thank you for a prompt, Zmiter. I’ve never thought before that due to the lack of free media my own fence can be used as a place for expressing normal opinions.
He wrote a request to release former presidential candidate Alyaksandr Kazulin on the fence.
The article “Who is guilty?” affected many people. It is said that people came to Abramychau’s cabinet and asked him “How cold you do it?”
Zmiter Abramychau knows very well that oppositionists aren’t rich, – activist of public movement Nina Yarmalinskaya said. – Where did he see villas?
Indeed, it is difficult to find rich activists of civil society in Saligorsk, unlike rich officials. Many people have problems with employment. Their main treasure is feeling of own dignity, spiritual power, and mental ballast.
– Among all oppositionists only I have my own house. – A. Tsetsura says. – But I earned for it yet in the Soviet times. When my wife and I were working in the North at three workplaces. Zmiter knows about it.
– Zmiter Abramychau had been working as a journalist for the newspaper of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union “Salidarnast”, – member of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union Mikalai Zimin says. – He had publications with sharp criticism of the authorities, he had problems with state newspapers because of these articles...
But I would say a different thing: even a fence can be a newspaper at ours!
