On January 17 about 100 students celebrated one month after the law on reverse of benefits was adopted. They held a flash-mob. Students gathered near A. Pushkin monument, put on hares’ masks and decided to mark the “Hare’s Day” (Stowaway Day) every month by different actions.
Participants of the flash-mob read a vow with such words:
“I am a student, and I swear to be a free rider in all means of transport including metro when possible. I swear to demand our government to return benefits to us”.
When participants of flash mob in masks headed to the Palace of Sports, several policemen who moved toward them in a car, started to run after them. They seized several young men, but later let them go.
Participants of the flash-mob gathered in the center of Minsk in hare masks and traveled to the trading center “Karona” without tickets. They made a firework there. In the trolley-bus participants of the flash-mob ate carrots and cabbages.
“We have decided to organize a flash-mob to attract attention to us. We want our benefits to be returned to us. Life was hard for us this month without benefits. We plan to organize such rallies every month,” one of participants of the flash-mob said.
