Minsk demonstrates solidarity with political prisoners (Photo)

An action of solidarity with political prisoners was held near the underground station “Pushkinskaya” on 28 January. 19 JEANS activists held portraits of Tatyana Tishkevich and Paval Kuryanovich sentenced to 20 days of arrest for participation in the actions on 10 and 16 January.

The action wasn’t timed to any particular date. The activist just reminded the Minsk dwellers of the situation in Belarus. The real situation is: dissents are thrown to prisons and expelled from universities, the site jeans-by.com writes.

On days, when actions of protest take place, students are made voluntary-compulsory to visit concerts and excursions. The authorities consider the youth to be the most dangerous social group. Young people stand trials on falsified accusations only for the fact they speak out their opinions loud. For the fact they don’t scare.
