Businessmen disfranchised when importing goods from Russia

54

Since January 1, 2009 preferences for individual entrepreneurs who imported goods from the Russian Federation are lifted.

The BelTA was informed about that by a deputy Economy Minister of Belarus Andrei Tur.

“Customs clearance of goods imported from Russia by individual entrepreneurs will be imposed since January 1. The present preferential regime won’t be extended. It is done with the aim to secure equal conditions for all market participants. Today private unitary enterprises make custom formalities of goods delivered from Russia in full, while individual entrepreneurs with almost the same volume of trade can do without customs clearance,” Andrei Tur said.

The deputy minister reminded that since January 1, 2009 part 3 of the Decree No.285 of June 18, 2005 “On some measures for regulation of business activities” ceases to be in force. Since that time goods from third countries offered for free circulation in Russia and imported to the tax territory of Belarus by individual entrepreneurs who pay the single tax, will be subjected to customs clearance and customs dues.
