Expenses for “deputies” increased by more than one third

Activities of Belarusian “deputies” and “senators” in 2009 are to cost Belarusian tax payers more than in 2008.

Expenses for the both chambers of the “parliament” are to make more than 34 billion rubles, which is by 36.8% more than in 2008. The increased sum has been rubberstamped today at the session of the “parliament”.

Two thirds of this sum, 24.4 billion rubles, are expected to be allocated for financing the lower “chamber”. One third is to be received by senators, “Telegraf” informs with the reference to the AFN.

It is expected to allocate about 273 million rubles for trips inside the country, 707.8 million rubles for international links, 127.5 million rubles for fees in international organisations.

Earlier deputy Economy Minister of Belarus Andrei Tur confirmed decrease in base pay of first rate since December 2008. He explained that this decision had been caused by deterioration of foreign economic environment for Belarus, which brought about decrease of taxable base and consequently decrease of budget revenues.
