The situation at a crossing point of critical importance to Russia has changed dramatically.
On the night of June 9 the Chongar Bridge was damaged again as a result of an operation by Ukrainian units using FP-2 drones, which led to the complete destruction of the structure and the disruption of transport links.
This was reported by Charter97.org citing a post by the 1st Separate Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Ground Forces on Facebook.
Chongar Bridge struck again
On the night of June 9, the Chongar Bridge was struck again. Units from the "Falanga" Multidomain Operations Center, the 1st Separate Assault Regiment named after Dmytro Kotsyubailo, and the 475th Separate Assault Regiment "CODE 9.2" participated in the operation. FP-2 drones were used to strike the target.
Logistical Consequences
The bridge sustained its first damage on June 7, when the roadway was partially destroyed in one direction.
After a second strike, the facility’s infrastructure was completely destroyed, and transportation links were cut off for an extended period.
Situation monitoring and next steps
It is noted that movements and attempts at restoration work are being monitored.
We emphasize our readiness to deliver further strikes in the event of attempts to restore the logistics route.
Continuation of operations
It is reported that systematic operations are continuing as part of FrontStrike operations aimed at destroying logistics infrastructure.
We remind you that on the night of June 9, drones launched a new strike on the Chongar Bridge—one of the key crossings connecting the temporarily occupied Crimea with the mainland. As a result of the attack, traffic on the bridge was completely halted, and the occupying authorities recommended using detour routes.
According to data provided by the occupying authorities, the strike was recorded on the crossing over the Sivash Bay. It is reported that traffic on the bridge has been blocked.
