Maltsau: “Accession of Belarus’s neighbouring countries to NATO didn’t create military threat”

Accession of Belarus’s neighbouring countries to NATO has strengthened military danger in the region, but hasn’t created a military threat. Minister of defence of Belarus general-colonel Leanid Maltsau said it on the press conference in Minsk.

“Of course, the level of military danger for Belarus has grown. Power of Armed Forces has increased on our borders,” the minister said. He also emphasised that “no one says about military threat.”

“Our military doctrine says Belarus has no potential enemy and on this basis we conduct the Armed Forces development,” Leanid Maltsau added.
