Two events took place in Warsaw on 16 April, dedicated to Solidarity Day. A picket near the Belarusian embassy was held. And a gig of freestyle musicians was played in Warsaw.
Some Belarusians, living in Warsaw, came to the Belarusian embassy with national white-red-white flags and portraits of political prisoners and disappeared politicians. They were accompanied by two Poles, carrying a poster depicting the present official Belarusian flag with the inscription “Yes to Belarus, no to Lukashenka.”
Members of the Free Belarus civil organisation decided to mark Solidarity Day in a new way – they organised a concert of leading Polish free-stylists. Bands Proceente, Muflon, and Flint performed in the
Obiekt Znaleziony club in the city center at 9.00 (Minsk time). Musicians improvised on themes of freedom and democracy in Belarus.
The participants of the gig released white-red-white balloons on Pilsudski Square at midnight.
