Volha Kazulina: Head of OSCE office could discuss with Kazulin his release

On August 11 the head of the OSCE office in Minsk Hans Jochen Schmidt visited Alyaksandr Kazulin in the colony Vitsba-3. It is not reported about the topics they discussed. Volha, the political prisoner’s daughter, hopes that it is related to the issue of her father’s release.

“The visit was a part of the OSCE’s office commitments in the area of monitoring of legal proceedings. The OSCE office is satisfied to note that the request for a meeting with Alyaksandr Kazulin was answered in the positive by the state authorities’ BelaPAN informs with the reference to the OSCE office in Minsk.

The OSCE official report does not give information as for the topics discussed during the meeting of Hans Jochen Schmidt and Alyaksandr Kazulin.

“The head of the OSCE office haven’t met with us in Minsk. So I do not know what they discussed. But I hope it is connected to the issue of my father’s release somehow,” Volha Kazulina said to Salidarnasts.

The both daughters of Kazulin, Volha and Yuliya, plan to meet with their father in the end of August. They will have a 3-day meeting.

As we have informed, on July 13, 2006 Alyaksandr Kazulin was sentenced to imprisonment for 5.5 years for organizing a protest rally against rigging presidential elections results.
