CEC not inclined to allow democrats join district elections commissions

The Central Election Commission of Belarus has ignored offers of oppositional parties’ leaders.

As the chairperson of the CEC Lidziya Yarmoshyan said at a press-conference in Minsk on August 29, the CEC is not going to add members to district elections commissions.

As we have informed, the address of the presidium of the United Democratic Forces to Uladzimer Makej, head of the presidential administration, to add members to district electoral commissions. The proposal was made after a minimal number of the UDF members had become members of district election commissions: less then 50 out of 1,300 candidates.
