Ministry of Information ordered destroy leaflets of “For Freedom” movement

Opposition activist Ales Shpakouski was detained by militia in summer, when he was distributing leaflets “For Freedom” at an Orsha market.

A report on administrative offence against the 75-year old activist was drawn up in the militia, and 158 leaflets were seized. The materials of the case were sent to the Ministry of Information to evoke public interest.

Ales Shpakouski has recently received a decree from the Ministry of Information on closing of the case on administrative offence, signed by minister of information Ihar Laptsyonak, Bulletinonline writes.

The minister found no elements essential to the administrative offence in the actions of Ales Shpakouski, as materials of the “For Freedom” movement have no relation to periodical printed materials.

Stood up for the old man, Ihar Laptsyonak ordered to “destroy the leaflets “For Freedom”, as they were printed with violation of laws concerning imprints and mustn’t be distributed in the Republic of Belarus”.
