Militia is looking for persons, guilty of false mining of a building in Hrodna on May 20, 2007, among members of opposition parties and organizations.
The Regional Prosecutor’s office controls the investigation and has made law enforcement bodies to be more responsible in investigation, Radio Racyja reports.
A number of non-governmental organizations and political parties, registered an administrative building of Hrodna, received a request from chief interrogating officer captain Kalameitsau, who offered to answer questions connected with false mining of the building situated on Budenny Street, 48a on may 20, 2007.
On that day, members of the “For Freedom” movement held a statutory meeting of the organization that was broken up by militia and the KGB. Representatives of the law enforcement bodies tried to find a bomb, as they had received a telephone call about mining of the building.
Captain Kalameitsau asks to give him information about events on May 20, 2007, and give a list of people participated in the session. However, he thinks this case has no prospects.
On May 20, 2007, officers of the KGB and law enforcement agencies broke up not only a statutory session of the “For Freedom” movement, but also examination of children, having Polish roots, for high education establishments of Poland, organized by NGO Polska Macierz Szkolna and General Consul of Poland in Hrodna.
This incident caused scandal in diplomatic circles and in Polish press, but the Belarusian authorities didn’t react to this event.
