Mikalai Khaliezin: “In 2010 we are to get over a pivotal point”

Today’s regime is just a product of internal problems of the Belarusian society, believes the director othe Belarus Free Theatre Mikalai Khalezin.

Answering the question about his wishes to Belarusians in the new 2010, the well-known playwright said in interview to charter97.org website:

“I would like to wish Belarusians pragmatism in the first place, for them to understand finally that the life they are living is their life. If they realize that, they would start changing their lives for the better.

I would also like to wish them health, as the next year is to become the most serious test for this parameter of human life. We are to feel the hot breath of the crisis. But not of the global one, which is being passed through by most of civilized countries, but of our Belarusian crisis, all its facets: political, social and economic ones.

I would also like to wish tolerance, as it is to become one of the most important qualities which would allow maintaining kindness and morality in the most difficult period.

I wish love primarily to themselves, as this feeling perfectly stimulates thoughts of how to live one’s life in a dignified way.

These qualities would be useful for all of us in the next year, as it is to become n many aspects a critical year of our life. In 2010 we will get over the pivotal point to which we have neared. Our future, maybe the next ten years, will depend on the way in which we would live this year. As the current regime is just a result of internal problems of the Belarusian society,” Mikalai Khalezin is convinced.
