Zyanon Paznyak: “No one must avoid responsibility for human death”

The case of human rights activist Yana Palyakova’s suicide shouldn’t have a period of limitation.

Leader of the Conservative Christian Party of the Belarusian Popular Front Zyanon Paznyak commented on the suicide of the Salihorsk human rights activist:

“In the late 1990s, former chairman of the Supreme Council S. Sharetski told me how Lukashenka had invited him to “have a good time” at the beginning of his presidential career. But to sauna, popular entertainment of Soviet officials, but to look at execution of murders, sentenced to capital punishment. Stunned Sharetski refused. “You should see it, Syamyon, it’s really interesting! They are alive for a short time after the shot, they move,” Sharetski said.

Here we see a conscious demonstration of non-acceptance of morality, public presentation of one’s poor life pattern as a norm.

He announces that five-year old boy a successor, uniform of commander-in-chief was sued for the child, generals report to him.

Public paranoia is like pain, people are getting used to it. Otherwise, how can this silence be explained?

I have never thought that Márquez’s phantasmagoria (The Autumn of the Patriarch)can spring to life in Belarus, which is so far from Latin America. But it is real, it is happening against the background of apathy and silence in the country, where lives and souls are being destroying.

Incitement to suicide as a crime is mentioned in all national legal codes and laws of the civilized countries. It is obvious that the persons, guilty in Yana Palyakova’s suicide, will try to get themselves out, they will say it happened because of her life, her emotional character, and they may get out (for a time). But a case must be instigated and it mustn’t have a period of limitation. No one must avoid responsibility for human death.
