Militia hindered holding solidarity action in Salihorsk (Photo)

Activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” held an action of solidarity in Salihorsk.

Young oppositionists unfurled a banner “Solidarity” on the central square of the town. They also held portraits of human rights activists Yana Palyakova, committed suicide, and lighted candles.

Militia officers appeared on the square some minutes later and the participants had to stop the action. None of them was detained.

It should be reminded that human rights activist Yana Palyakova committed suicide on March 7, three days after a sentence of 2.5-year imprisonment had been delivered to her.
