Mikhail Bashura remains in custody, location unknown

On August 19 the court of Savetski district of Minsk dismissed the complaint of a lawyer to change measure of restraint for Mikhail Bashura.

So the activist detained on August 6, remains under arrest. But the lawyer does not know where exactly – in the remand prison of Minsk or already in Zhodzina, “Belarusian partisan” informs.

Consideration of the complaint of Tamara Sidarenka in the court of Savetski district court of Minsk started on August 17, but the decision was announced only today. The court dismissed the complaint on changing the measure of restraint for Mikhail Bashura. Within a day the lawyer is set to appeal against this decision in the city court of Minsk.

Mikhail Bashura was detained on August 6 “on immediate suspicion” and detained for thee days. On August 9 the period under guard was extended to 10 days. On August 16 Mikhail Bashura was charged with violation under Article 380 Parts 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code – forgery, fabrication, use or sale of false documents, stamps, seals, printed forms. Two years ago he was surety for his wife who took a credit. Bashura allegedly offered a false document about his salary, overstating his income.
