Russia concerned about Belarusian banned persons list

The Russian Presidential Council for Development of Civil Society and Human Rights has discussed deportation of the Russian human rights activist.

Human rights activist Andrey Yurov, the head of the International Observation Mission of the Committee on International Control over Human Rights Situation in Belarus, who had been detained in Minsk and left the country in accordance with the order, attended a sitting of the Russian Presidential Council for Development of Civil Society and Human Rights on March 18.

The Council heard information about the activity of the Committee on International Control and the International Observation Mission and approved further work of the Council in the directions relating to the situation in Belarus. In particular, the Council plans to create a group on human rights in Belarus and Russia, which among other things would deal harmonization of legislation of the two countries.

The Council took a task to work out legislative measures to allow Russian lawyers to work in Belarus and vice versa. The Council also tried to clear up the situation with the lists of Russian nationals banned from entering Belarus, who did not commit criminal or administrative offences in Belarus, the press service of the International Observation Mission of the Committee on International Control over Human Rights situation in Belarus says.
