UN Security Council strongly condemns blast in Minsk

The UN Security Council released a statement on Wednesday condemning the blast in Minsk metro and reiterated its determination to combat all forms of terrorism.
The statement says the members of the Security Council expressed their deep sympathy and condolences to the victims and to their families. The UN Security Council warns, "terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security, and that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed.” The members of the Security Council reiterated their determination to combat all forms of terrorism, in accordance with its responsibilities under the Charter of the United Nations, Xinhua reports.
The UN Security Council underlined that measures taken to combat terrorism comply with all their obligations under international law.
“The explosion, which occurred at the main "Oktyabrskaya" subway station Monday as people were coming off trains during the evening rush hour, killed 12 and injured about 200 others,” the statement says.
