Book about “Square-2010” presented in Warsaw

Former political prisoners Natallya Radzina and Alyaksandr Atroshchankau took part in the presentation.

The event was held on January 25 in the Belarusian House, Euroradio reports.

In addition to the book of Alyaksandr Tamkovich, a well-known Belarusian journalist, called “Swimming Upstream” and dedicated to the Belarusians convicted for participation in the Square – 2010, also presented the book “Without politics”. It tells about unknown hobbies of Belarusian oppositional politicians.

There was full audience at the event. As said by one of the heads of the Belarusian House Zmitser Barodka, it shows that many Poles are also concerned about the fate of imprisoned Belarusians.

“The topic of the book “Swimming Upstream” is close to my heart as I was a participant of December 19, 2010 events. Unfortunately, people convicted for participation in the Square are still behind the bars. It is a problem Poles and Belarusians are alarmed with profoundly. That is why so many people have come to the presentation. As we give correct evaluation to the events, so our society shall move on in the right direction,” Zmitser Barodka said.

Besides the author of the book, heroes of the book “Swimming Upstream” – Alyaksandr Atroshchankau and Natallya Radzina took part in the presentation. They told about their imprisonment terms and their first impressions when they were released.
