The head of the central Election Commission promises there will be a televised show before the so-called “parliamentary election.”
“Not only presidential candidates, but also candidates for deputies have received an opportunity to take part in the debates on TV and radio, certainly even if the candidates would dare to appear on air,” Lidziya Yarmoshyna said. She has also noted that “there would be a considerable transparency of the vote count in the upcoming election.” Nomination of parliamentary candidates has been simplified, and primarily nomination by political parties, BelTA informs.
Lidziya Yarmoshyna reminded that the legislation on election in Belarus was amended in 2010, and the “election” of local councils’ deputies and the presidential election have been held in accordance with it already. “The parliamentary election” is to be held under the amended norms for the first time.
Are all the participants of the debate and “the election” held under the amended regulations going to be placed directly into the KGB remand prison, or some of them would be allowed to “repent” on air of the state-run Belarusian TV channel BT, has not been specified by the chair of the Central Election Commission.
