Opposition activists fined for laying flowers

Anastasia Shuleika was fined 2 million Belarusian rubles. Yury Khodas got a fine of 1.5 million rubles.

Shuleika's administrative case was heard by judge Maryna Zapasnik; Khodas's case was heard by Mikhail Khoma.

Judges began to hear cases against the activists only after journalists and human rights activists left the building of the Leninski district court.

We remind police detained youth activists on April 11 during a ceremony to open the River of Memory memorial sign dedicated to victims of the Minsk metro bombing attack. The activists were accused of “swearing”.
