Workers escape from Mahilouliftmash

Workers escape from Mahilouliftmash

Only on last Friday around 50 people quit the enterprise. More than 70 left it in March.

Apart from that, there are around 200 workers in the line to quit. This is the number of the worker, who refused the administration’s suggestion to prolong their labor contacts.

The reason of the quitting is law salaries. The average salary at the enterprise is around 4.5 million roubles. Engineering and technical specialists in average earn around 4 million roubles, workers – around five million, a charter97.org’s correspondent reports.

Jury, one of the workers of the enterprise, notes that the quitting is also caused by the start of the working season in Russia.

“It has become a tradition for workers at Liftmash to quit in spring. People get employed in autumn, for a while and then go to work in Russia. There they earn by times more for their labor. In their case it is worth it”, - Jury says.

Apart from that, the worker notes, the salary has frozen at the enterprise, which causes extreme discontent among the workers at the enterprise.

“According to official data, the average salary at the enterprise has crossed the $700 mark, but by far not everyone earns that much. Only due to the high salaries of the management such an average is possible. When there was a crisis in the country the salaries dropped a lot. They were raised only when almost half of the enterprise’s staff submitted applications for quitting”, - Jury continues.

It is worth noting that at the current moment around 5 thousand people work at the enterprise. About two months ago the enterprise has changed the form of property – the plant went from a republican unitary enterprise to a public corporation. So far the whole holding of stocks belongs to the government.
