Two Years Ago, Largest Rally In History Of Belarus Was Held

On August 16, 2020, all major cities of the country protested.

In the afternoon of August 16, 2020, a gigantic Freedom March gathered in Minsk — according to various estimates, from 300,000 to 500,000 people took part in it. This action became the largest protest in the history of Belarus.

Protests that day took place in almost all major cities of Belarus. Brest, Babruisk, Barysau, Belaziorsk, Vitsebsk, Vileyka, Hrodna, Dziarzhynsk, Dziatlava, Zhlobin, Zhodzina, Karelichy, Krychau, Luninets, Miory, Pastavy, Pinsk, Slonim, Staryja Darohi, Chavusy, and other cities rallied.
