Analysts spoke about the trauma suffered by the Belarusian dictator.
The Zerkala website has wondered why Lukashenka is still afraid of protests. Political analyst Aliaksandr Klaskouski believes that the Belarusian dictator realises that his "golden age" has passed:
"The main reason is that in 2020 Aliaksandr Lukashenka was shocked by the scale of the protests. The instruction to maintain a high level of fear in society was sent down from above. I think Lukashenka understands deep down that although the protests have already been rolled up in asphalt, the golden age has passed for him and there will be no new surge of people's love".
Political scientist Valeryj Karbalevich expressed the opinion that Lukashenka has been traumatised:
"The authorities are afraid of a repetition of the events of 2020 for objective reasons. The trauma, which the authorities received then, is not healing. Therefore, to compensate for it, more and more round-ups of people, detentions, arrests, trials and punishments are organised," says the analyst.
