Defence Intelligence: Turmoil, Tension Grow In Russia

Ukrainian intelligence gave three reasons.

In Russia, social tension and protest activity are growing due to dissatisfaction with the war against Ukraine, inflation and rising food prices. The top management in Moscow is also aware of the situation. This was stated by the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

As reported by the Defence Intelligence, social tension is growing in the European part of the Russian state.

“The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine informs that social tension is growing within the aggressor state of Russia, in particular in its European part,” intelligence officials say.

The department also emphasized that this conclusion was reached, among other things, by Russian officials and representatives of the special services. The situation is reflected in closed reports for Moscow.

Protest activity is growing in Russia due to the war with Ukraine

In addition, as the Defence Intelligence believes, protest activity in Russia is intensifying due to dissatisfaction with the war against Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the crime rate in the regions is growing due to people losing a stable source of income, problems finding work and the “alcoholization” of the population.

At the same time, the increase in social tension in the Russian Federation is directly affected by high inflation rates and rising food prices.

Russia wants negotiations with Ukraine

In Russia, they increasingly want negotiations with Ukraine and expect poverty, according to a Russian Field study. During the survey, which was conducted from October 21 to 29, 48% of respondents were in favor of dialogue with Kyiv.

However, 39% of respondents support the war against Ukraine.

More than half of the respondents are against the new mobilization in Russia.

“58% of respondents would not support a second wave of mobilization. The share of those who will support the second wave of mobilization increases slightly if Vladimir Putin announces this decision,” the study states.
