Military Instructor Compared Kalinouski Regiment And Belarusian Army Levels Of Training

Soviet methods do not work in modern warfare.

Valiantsin, an instructor at the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment Training Center, previously served in the ranks of the Belarusian army. He told Mediazona that they train there according to Soviet methods that do not work in modern warfare.

“And then some people who went through the wars come to them. They come and tell them everything about how we handle weapons and about the small group tactics and warfare. When people with combat experience begin to train the Belarusian troops, I am sure that they will simply get really amazed and shocked,” he says.

“Military commanders and simple soldiers are to undergo complex training. At the same time, training should be constant. Training in highly qualified armies of the "NATO format" can take from three months up to a year,” the instructor says. “And it is designed according to the EDIP principle.”

“If you take soldiers and teach them to be amazing infantrymen and assaulters, but their commanders keep the Soviet action logic, there will be null results. And if you train commanders who will become great tacticians and strategists, but at the same time they will have soldiers who don’t even know how to use tourniquets and just bleed dead, they won’t last long either,” Valiantsin is sure.
