‘Kremlin, Ostankino’: Ukrainian Officer Names Ukrainian Drones’ Target
OLEKSIY HETMAN

The Russians will be seized by panic.

On the night of August 18, the Moscow City government complex in the Russian capital was again attacked by unknown drones. Later this afternoon, in Serpukhov, about 100 km south of Moscow, several unidentified drones were also spotted.

How will this affect the overall result of hostilities and the mood of Russians? The Charter97.org website talked about this with a military analyst, a major in the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war Oleksiy Hetman:

— I can say that this does not affect the front line in any way. These are facilities in the depths of the Russian Federation, but the morale of the Russian military (including those on the front line) is significantly affected.

What is happening in Moscow is closely monitored by the entire Russian Federation. After all, Moscow is not just the capital of the country, but also the moral capital. Everything that happens in Moscow affects life throughout the Russian Federation.

We know that Moscow Mayor Sobyanin announced that they would not announce an air raid alert in the Russian capital, as this could negatively affect the mood of the citizens. But after the eighth (if we count from May) attacks, the situation may change.

I think that if the “flock” of drones, which was reported today, reaches the target, then alarms will be announced.

— Can these attacks cause significant harm?

— These drones do not have a large explosive charge, but it's another matter if there are a lot of them. If you take the eight attacks that have already been on Russia since May, then 2-5 drones were used. By and large, it was a test of the capabilities of the Russian air defense, which is around Moscow. I will say that there are two options for launching these drones.

Directly from the territory of Ukraine or from the territory of the Russian Federation. If these were launches from our territory, then these drones overcame at least three lines of defense: at first they somehow crossed the front line, then they traveled hundreds of kilometers across the territory of the Russian Federation, where air defense should also operate, and thirdly, they passed the defense of Moscow.

That is, we can say that Russia is not able to destroy some UAVs. More than half of the launched drones fly. If it was an attack from the territory of the Russian Federation, then the drones overcame only one line of defense — Moscow. But this is even worse for Russia, because it means that they do not control their territory, UAVs can be launched directly from it. I emphasize that they cannot figure out how they got there, where they start.

— What can be expected in the near future?

— I think that the next blows will be more powerful. There will be not only fear, but panic directly in Moscow, which will be transferred to the Russian troops.

When not 2-3 drones will attack, not even 20-30, but 200-300. After all, we produce at least 1,000 drones every month. These are official figures, which are very low. I think that we produce many times more. Therefore, we have the opportunity to launch 200-300 drones.

Perhaps, for example, such an attack on military facilities in Moscow (we do not attack civilian facilities), facilities where decisions are made, or others, one way or another connected with the Russian Armed Forces. It could be an attack on the Kremlin, Ostankino and other places.

That's when Comrade Sobyanin will begin to announce air raid alerts. When the alarm starts to sound in Moscow every other day or every day, then not only Muscovites, but Russians as a whole will be seized by panic. As a result, they will have many questions to Putin about what is happening, and how this is possible.
