Zelensky: Ukraine Will Get 42 F-16 Fighter Jets

This is just the beginning, according to the President of Ukraine.

Ukraine will get 42 American F-16 fighters from partners, at the first stage.

Ukraine will receive 42 F-16 fighter jets from the Netherlands after pilot training. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement on Telegram on August 20.

Zelensky is on a visit to the Netherlands today. He met with Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

“F-16. A groundbreaking deal. We have something real from now on. We’ll have them in the Ukrainian sky. Thanks, Netherlands! Thank you, Mark! Thanks to everyone who helps!” the president said.

Later, he announced the number of aircraft that Ukraine would get.

“Today we are taking another step to strengthen the air shield over Ukraine. The F-16 fighter jets. The aircraft we’ll use to keep Russian terrorists away from Ukrainian towns and villages. Mark Rutte and I have agreed on the number of F-16 jets that will be provided to Ukraine after the training of our pilots and engineers. 42 aircraft. And this is just the beginning,” Zelensky said.
