There could have been two bombs on board the plane, one of them in a very specific place.

The "main version" of the crash of Evgeny Prigozhin's plane - the explosion of a bomb in the service compartment in the area of the bathroom. Investigators believe that there may have been two bombs on board the Embraer, writes the Russian Baza news agency.

According to Baza's sources, the version about the use of air defence systems is not a priority. According to experts, there is too little damage from shrapnel on the parts of the crashed Embraer. Moreover, no traces of the missile were observed in the sky when the plane fell.

The evidence so far is that the explosion occurred in the service compartment (a similar compartment on another business jet in the photo) near the tail of the aircraft, which fell several kilometres from the fuselage. The compartment, which is also the cargo section, also provides access to the lavatory, which is located near the tail. The keel of the Embraer remained virtually intact. According to investigators, it is unlikely that the bomb was placed in the landing gear area: the fuel tanks are nearby and if an IED had detonated there, the aircraft would have been engulfed in flames as it fell. It is possible that two IEDs were placed on board in case one bomb failed to detonate.

The investigation began with the maintenance phase of the aircraft at Sheremetyevo before the flight to St Petersburg. Sources say investigators were particularly interested in whether there were any new employees who had only recently joined the organisation.
