Polish Border Guards Attacked With Explosive Charges From Belarus Side

An armoured vehicle was sent to the area of the attack.

On August 2, migrants used not only stones, but also firecrackers against the Polish patrol. This is stated in the summary of the Polish Border Guard.

"At the section of the outpost in Dubicze Cerkiewne, Polish patrols were attacked with stones and firecrackers after they prevented the attempted crossing of the border by a group of 20 people. A TUR special vehicle has been sent to the area," the Polish Border Guard said.

The TUR is a light armoured vehicle used by the Polish police's counter-terrorism units. They were sent to reinforce them in the border regions last month.

In total, 86 migrants tried to violate the Polish border on August 2. This is considerably less than during the last week, when the daily number of violators hovered around 200.

At the Lithuanian-Latvian border, fewer attempted violations were also recorded yesterday. Lithuanian border guards reported four migrants, Latvian border guards reported 15.
