Political Prisoner Standing Trial Under Six Criminal Code Articles In Hrodna

What is he accused of?

In the Hrodna Regional Court, 46-year-old political prisoner Kiryl Kroshkin is being tried under six articles of the Criminal Code, the human rights center “Viasna” reports.

The case is being considered by Judge Yury Kazakevich. The political prisoner is accused under the following articles:

• Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code (incitement to racial, national, religious or other social hostility or discord);

• Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them);

• Article 369 of the Criminal Code (insulting a representative of authority);

• Part 2 of Article 361−2 of the Criminal Code (financing extremist activities);

• Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code (insulting Lukashenka);

• Part 3 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code (incitement to racial, national, religious or other social hostility or discord).

It is known that the man was detained on May 1, 2023. Initially, he was charged only with Article 130 of the Criminal Code. In December 2023, the KGB added Kroshkin to the “list of terrorists.”
