More than 370,000 Ukrainians in the neighboring country may be subject to mobilization.
Warsaw's assistance to Kyiv in the issue of the return of Ukrainians liable for military service may adversely affect the Polish economy.
Forbes reported.
As the publication explains, such step will negatively affect the Polish economy, as thousands of Ukrainian citizens will be forced to leave their jobs. There are also growing fears that some of the conscripts will try to flee Poland.
It is noted that of the more than a million Ukrainians who have come to Poland since the beginning of the full-scale war, about 371,000 are men of military age who may be subject to mobilization.
Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said that Warsaw can help Ukraine with the issue of the repatriation of conscripts. Commenting on the mechanisms that can be applied to this, he said that “anything is possible”.
In particular, it is not yet known whether Poland will continue temporary protection for refugees, which ends on June 30.
