The occupiers began to lose control of their units.
Operation "Vivaldi" has yielded new results: Ukrainian forces have regained control of an additional 101 square kilometers of territory and liberated three settlements.
This was reported by the Third Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As Brigadier General Andriy Beletskyi stated in an address marking the completion of the fourth phase of Operation “Vivaldi,” the Third Army Corps, together with attached units, liberated Zelenaya Dolina, Lipovoye, and Kolodyazi.
According to him, during this phase, the Ukrainian military regained control of 101 square kilometers of territory. At the same time, the Russian army, according to Ukrainian estimates, lost about 3,000 soldiers.
The operation began with the elimination of Russian infiltration but eventually escalated into a large-scale offensive. The corps claims that the occupiers began to lose control over their units, which complicated their operations.
How the operation affected the situation in Donbas
Among the operation’s results, Beletsky noted that it prevented the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk metropolitan area from being outflanked. According to him, this prevented Russian troops from encircling the area.
He also cited the defense of the Kharkiv–Slavyansk highway as another important result. This route is of critical logistical importance to the Ukrainian force in the Donbas.
“The enemy was unable to cut off our force’s key logistical artery in the Donbas. We thwarted the ‘West’ group’s offensive and forced it to redeploy part of the 1st Tank Army’s units, which eased the pressure on Kupiansk-Uzlovaya,” the brigadier general added.
How much territory has been recaptured since the start of the operation
According to the Third Army Corps, since the start of Operation “Vivaldi,” Ukrainian forces have regained full control of 16 settlements and liberated 277 km of territory.
The corps also reported that the Russian army’s total losses during the operation amount to approximately 8,000 soldiers.
The fourth phase added three more settlements and 101 square kilometers of territory to the overall results.
Which units participated in the operation
The operation involved troops from the 3rd Assault Brigade, the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 125th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade, the 3rd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion, the 25th Separate Assault Battalion, and the 21st Separate “KRAKEN” Battalion.
Also joining the combat operations were attached units from the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 3rd Border Guard Detachment, the 10th “Dozor” Mobile Border Guard Detachment, tactical groups from the 8th Special Operations Forces Regiment, and the National Guard of Ukraine’s “Lasar’s Group” for “A” operations.
The Third Army Corps reported the completion of the fourth phase of Operation “Vivaldi.”
At the same time, military officials emphasized that combat operations are continuing: “The four seasons of ‘Vivaldi’ are over. But the music plays on. Stay tuned!”
“Vivaldi”
As a reminder, The Third Army Corps announced the “Vivaldi” offensive operation in the north of Donetsk Oblast on September 15, 2026. During the first phase, the Ukrainian military reported the liberation of Sredne and the clearing of several other settlements from Russian infiltration.
On September 20, the corps reported the results of the second phase: Ukrainian units established control over Shandrigolov, Derilov, and Drobyshev.
In late September, the Ukrainian military reported on the third phase. According to the corps, Novoye, Redkodub, and Ekaterinovka were returned to Ukrainian control, and control over Karpovka and Novomikhailovka was also restored.
