The post generated a lot of buzz.

The director of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation Kash Patel, who had previously denied having traveled to Russia, posted on his social media account X account, in which he hinted that he had, in fact, been in Moscow.

On October 15, Patel posted “From Russia with Love” on X, sparking widespread discussion among internet users. Many users believe that the director of the U.S. FBI was in Russia after all, although this has been officially denied.

On October 14, the American television channel MS NOW, citing its sources, reported that FBI Director Kash Patel had arrived in Russia to participate in negotiations. The report mentioned a two-day trip during which Patel was supposed to visit Moscow and St. Petersburg. The Bureau later denied that the director had visited Russia.

On October 14, Patel was in Virginia at an event related to law enforcement agencies.

In July of this year, some U.S. media outlets reported that Patel was planning to visit Russia on October 14–15. It was claimed that he would hold talks with representatives of Russia’s FSB.
Later, Reuters reported that the FBI director had established new channels of cooperation with law enforcement agencies in Russia and China to combat transnational crime.

Earlier, it was revealed that in August 2026, CIA Director John Ratcliffe made a secret visit to Russia.
