There will be weapons and light.
Ukraine has received official confirmation that it will receive new packages of defense, energy, and humanitarian aid from at least five partner countries. The aid will cover key sectors that are most in need of resources amid ongoing Russian attacks. This was announced on October 15 by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga in an interview "Ukrinform".
According to the head of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, diplomatic missions already have a clear understanding of which specific countries will provide support, and the process of agreeing on specific amounts is currently underway. However, the minister did not name the countries that are preparing new aid packages.
“I am confident that there will be additional energy, humanitarian, and defense packages… I have confirmation of new packages from at least five countries. We already know who they will come from; the amounts are currently being finalized. And we will receive additional aid,” Andrei Sibiga emphasized.
Andriy Sibiga emphasized that support from partners is crucial amid constant challenges and the enemy’s attempts to inflict maximum damage on Ukrainian infrastructure.
Thus, new aid packages from partners will be directed toward addressing the country’s most pressing issues:
Defense: supplies of weapons, ammunition, and equipment to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense system.
Energy sector: provision of equipment, generators, and necessary materials to restore and protect power grids following Russian attacks.
Humanitarian component: support for the civilian population and regions most affected by Russian aggression.
Detailed information on specific donor countries and the volume of supplies is expected to be made public once all working-level agreements have been finalized.
In addition, Andrei Sibiga announced the preparation of a Polish loan in the amount of 125 million euros for the purchase of weapons from a Polish manufacturer. According to him, the Polish side has confirmed its readiness to provide the funds, and the ministries of finance and defense of both countries are currently coordinating the list of products to be procured.
“The Polish side has decided to provide a loan of 125 million euros. This was confirmed by Minister Sikorski, and President Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Tusk also spoke about it,” stated the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Among the weapons of interest to Ukraine are the Piorun man-portable air defense systems, which the minister described as extremely effective. Sybiga hopes that the agreement can be finalized by the end of 2026. He also noted that the purchase will support the Polish defense industry, and the experience of using this weaponry in Ukraine will help improve it and promote it on international markets.
