"Pray—there's Nothing Else We Can Do": A Z-blogger Panicked Over The Situation In Crimea

People are barely managing to survive on the occupied peninsula.

Russian Z-blogger Gorny spoke candidly about what is currently happening in occupied Crimea. The peninsula is on the brink of a catastrophe that the Russian Federation stubbornly refuses to acknowledge. He writes about this on his Facebook blog, according to “Dialog.UA”.

According to him, the fuel crisis continues to rage in Crimea. Gasoline is sold at twice the price in Russia and is of very poor quality.

“You can’t fill up unless you pay 190₽/liter. The fuel quality is so-so; it increases fuel consumption in cars, and motorcycles can barely handle it… The situation is far from stabilizing. If only fuel were freely available for at least 100₽/liter, but that’s not the case and isn’t expected to be,” the propagandist complained.
He also complained about the dire economic situation on the peninsula. The local population is rapidly falling into poverty.
“Prices are rising, people’s mobility is declining, and this isn’t the end of it… What are the prospects for the next tourist season and for farmers? Are there any at all? What decisions should entrepreneurs make? Take risks? But do they have anything to risk? Many have nothing to risk. My forecast has been and remains the same—the next tourist season won’t be much better than this one, and that means bankruptcies. Look at how many hotels and inns went up for sale in September. Winter is coming, and food prices will obviously continue to rise. “Hikes in housing and utility costs will be reflected in prices in November and December,” Gorny wrote.

He advises Crimeans to switch to a strict austerity mode and pray, since there will be no help from Moscow. “Cut back on personal spending and save money. No loans or mortgages. Pray—there’s nothing else left to do,” the Z-blogger stated.

The fuel shortage in occupied Crimea remains unresolved, and people are barely surviving.
