The Main Intelligence Directorate provided details about the seven-week operation.

The GROUP 10 unit of the Active Operations Department of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense conducted an operation in the Sumy region, during which it captured 29 Russian servicemen. This was reported to the publication hromadske on Tuesday, October 20.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), another 108 occupiers were killed, and 157 were wounded.

The operation lasted about seven weeks and consisted of two phases. Forty special forces soldiers participated directly in the fighting. The mission was to thwart the Russians’ offensive plans and prevent them from cutting off the Defense Forces’ supply lines.

During this time, reconnaissance units struck more than 1,100 targets, including command posts, drone launch sites, artillery, and vehicles.

They also cleared more than 600 hectares of forest—approximately 6 km²—of occupiers, after which they handed over their positions to other Defense Forces units.
