Iran Has Announced Its Readiness To Open The Strait Of Hormuz

But there's one condition.

Iran has proposed that the United States open the Strait of Hormuz. However, in exchange, Tehran is demanding that the U.S. lift its blockade of Iranian ports.

This was stated by Iran’s ambassador to Islamabad (Pakistan), Reza Amiri Moghadam, according to Associated Press.

According to the diplomat, Iran recently conveyed through Pakistan its willingness to reopen the Strait of Hormuz if Washington lifts the naval blockade of its ports.

At the same time, he accused U.S. President Donald Trump of rejecting this proposal, insisting on continuing the blockade of Iranian ports.

Reza Amiri Moghadam also added that Iran remains open to negotiations with the U.S. within the framework of the temporary ceasefire agreement reached in June with Pakistan’s mediation.

It should be noted that Pakistan and Qatar helped the parties reach an agreement in June aimed at restoring shipping through the strait, lifting the U.S. naval blockade, and beginning negotiations on a broader agreement concerning Iran’s nuclear program.

Recently, media outlets reported that U.S. President Donald Trump may launch a new phase of the war against Iran. According to sources, such actions could take place before or after the midterm congressional elections.
