Gazmanov had experienced similar problems in the past.
Russian singer Larisa Dolina lost some of the music she had been preparing for her upcoming album. This was caused by disruptions in Yandex’s cloud storage service, which began after drone attacks on data centers, according to UNIAN reports, citing Russian media.
According to the singer’s manager Sergey Pudovkin, songs that were being prepared for release disappeared due to technical issues. In particular, the team had planned to release a new song titled “Wings.”
“Indeed, the songs have ‘flown away,’ including those from Larisa Dolina’s new album. We were preparing the premiere and release of the new song ‘Wings,’" said Pudovkin.
He added that the team will now have to reassemble the tracks. Some important parts of the songs were preserved on hard drives, but only as separate audio tracks. Because of this, restoring the musical material will require additional work.
The day before, Russian singer and Putin supporter Oleg Gazmanov reported the loss of musical material. According to him, a significant portion of his unreleased compositions was stored in Yandex’s cloud storage.
“Unfortunately, most of the material is gone. I had all of it stored in the Yandex cloud. It’s a tragedy—I’ve lost a great many songs,” Gazmanov said.
Attack on Yandex Data Centers
On the night of October 9, drones attacked a Yandex data center in Kaluga. As a result of the strike, several modules at the facility were damaged and, according to reports, completely knocked out of commission.
On the night of October 11, explosions rocked the Vladimir region of Russia. Another one of the company’s data centers was hit in the city of Vladimir. The 50-MW facility, designed to accommodate 2,880 IT racks, is a critical component of the Russian tech giant’s infrastructure.
