A Business Jet Crashed Near Trump's Residence

The moment was caught on video.

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy reported that a business jet crashed Sunday in a residential area in Florida. All nine people on board were killed, according to the BBC.

The plane crash occurred around 12:50 p.m. Eastern Time near Crosshaven, approximately 14 km from the Mar-a-Lago estate — the residence of President Donald Trump in the Palm Beach area.

Footage from the scene shows a crater in the road in a residential neighborhood, pockets of fire, and debris from the Learjet 60 scattered around.

According to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the aircraft departed from Austin, Texas, and was headed for the Bahamas.

Duffy called the incident a “horrific tragedy” and said the FAA is sending a team of experts to the scene to assist with the investigation being conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

“I urge you to join me in praying for the families and loved ones of those we have lost,” he said.
