Moscow refused even a limited cease-fire.
Sergey Lavrov , the foreign minister of the aggressor country Russia , stated that Moscow is not interested in a temporary ceasefire with Ukraine. Lavrov made this statement in response to proposals from Kyiv that have been voiced several times already, according to Dialog.UA.
According to him, the proposals for an energy, food, air, and maritime truce are allegedly not aimed at achieving peace.
Lavrov claims that the Russian side has allegedly been repeatedly convinced of “Kyiv’s lack of peaceful intentions.” Moscow insists on “reliably eliminating the root causes of the crisis,” the minister says.
The Russian foreign minister did not specify exactly what conditions he means by eliminating these causes. The diplomat likely means Ukraine’s acceptance of the terms of surrender previously put forward by the Kremlin. His statement effectively confirms the Kremlin’s rejection of any genuine peace process with Kyiv.
