The Ukrainian ombudsman spoke about an important event.
Following evacuation of Oleshky residents to Ukraine, a teenager who had spent some time in a shelter in Belarus has returned. This was reported on the Telegram channel by Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Ombudsman.
According to him, on October 31, when the residents of Oleshky crossed the border and found themselves in territory controlled by Ukraine, another important event took place: a family was reunited.

Earlier, the mother of a 16-year-old boy who had been living with his father in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region had reached out to Lubinets. According to her, the man held pro-Russian views, forbade his son from attending school, subjected him to psychological pressure, and committed domestic violence.
The teenager decided to leave his father and the occupied territory to reach Ukraine via Belarus. While attempting to cross the border, he was detained by Belarusian security forces. The basis for the detention was a report filed by his father stating that his “son had gone missing.” The teenager was placed in a children’s shelter in Belarus.
His mother was required to travel to Belarus, so the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urgently issued her a passport to travel abroad.
“In a few days, the boy will celebrate his 17th birthday—with his mother, in a free country,” Lubinets said.
