Armenia Has Taken A Painful Jab At Lukashenko

The regime's Foreign Ministry reacted nervously.

Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan said on TV that Russia is attempting a political operation and seizure of power in the country.

"We will not allow to make the Republic of Armenia a province. We will not be governed like Belarus," he said.

Then he noted that he did not cite the example of Belarus for nothing:

"Either you have to be Armenia to have balanced relations with Russia, with both, or you have to be a periphery, or Belarus."

Lukashenko's Foreign Ministry called such statements election populism and a desperate attempt to distract its own electorate.

It should be noted that yesterday, May 4, European leaders arrived in Yerevan.
