Analysts say this is the most massive airstrike on strategic targets in the Russian capital.
On the night of Thursday, June 18, Ukrainian drones attacked strategic targets in Russia’s Moscow Region. The Moscow Oil Refinery was reportedly among the targets, according to Dialog.UA reports, based on an analysis of social media posts.
An air raid alert was declared in the Moscow Region shortly after midnight.

Moscow residents reported that a local oil refinery was once again targeted by a drone attack. Numerous photos and videos posted online confirm this information. Explosions and fires have been reported on the plant’s premises.
OSINT analysts claim that this is the most massive airstrike on strategic targets in Moscow since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.
The Moscow Oil Refinery is located just about 15 kilometers from the Kremlin. It meets about 35% of the Russian capital’s fuel needs and supplies 40% of the gasoline and 50% of the diesel fuel for the Moscow region.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have previously attacked the Moscow Oil Refinery. For example, on the night of June 16, 2026. On that occasion, Ukrainian drones damaged the AVT-6 primary oil refining unit, after which the plant suspended operations.
