Lukashenko made this statement.
Lukashenko ordered a ban on trips abroad by groups of children without government supervision and the appropriate authorization. He made this statement while commenting on drone attack on a bus carrying Belarusian citizens, including children, in the Bryansk region, BelTA reports.
“I don’t want to condemn anyone here, but I want to ask our people—and especially parents, when we’re dealing with children—to stay home for now. They should play soccer and participate in other activities here. It’s more comfortable here in a quiet, peaceful country. And we must ban any trips without state supervision and authorization,” he said.
In connection with the incident, Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to a number of circumstances, mentioning the purpose of the trip by the group of Belarusian children to Gelendzhik.
“I want to draw attention to the fact itself: the parents—and they don’t deny this—organized this trip, whether for a vacation or to train people to play soccer in Gelendzhik. Listen, do we not have enough land to play soccer? Do we not have enough fields for both children’s and adult teams to play soccer in a decent, civilized manner? We do.”
Listen, do we really not have enough land to play soccer? Do we not have enough fields for both children’s and adult teams to play soccer in a decent, normal way? We do.”
To get to their destination, the parents turned to a private company and hired a bus.
“I don’t want to condemn this private company either. They were operating legally—they’re individual entrepreneurs. They rented a bus and went,” said Alexander Lukashenko. “And now some people are making complaints. We don’t need to make complaints. We adults—and, above all, the parents—need to be more careful about this.”
It should be noted that a number of experts believe that the attack on the bus was a Russian provocation.
