A number of cities were left without power.
On the night of June 24, a a major power grid failure following a drone attack. As a result of the damage to the power infrastructure, Sevastopol, Simferopol, Yalta, Alushta, and several regions of the peninsula were left without power. This was reported by "Glavkom" citing local Telegram channels.
According to the occupying authorities in Sevastopol, 70 drones were shot down during the attack. At the same time, damage to residential buildings and critical infrastructure facilities was recorded in the city.
The Russian-appointed “governor” of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev reported that in the Gagarin District, drone debris struck a high-rise building, causing a gas boiler to catch fire. Several apartment buildings were also damaged: windows were shattered and balconies were damaged.
In addition, damage from the attack was reported at seven private homes. There are reports of localized fires, punctured roofs, and damage to facades caused by debris.
According to local sources, around 4:00 a.m., the “Sevastopol” power substation was struck six to seven times. It is claimed that the substation’s main transformer was destroyed as a result of the attack.
The 330/220/110/35 kV “Sevastopol” substation is the city’s main power hub and supplies electricity to a significant portion of the Sevastopol power grid.
The company “Krymenergo” reported technical disruptions in the power grids, which left Simferopol, Alushta, Yalta, and four districts of occupied Crimea without power.
Later, it was reported that there had been a partial power outage in Feodosia, as well as in the Kirovsky and Sovetsky districts of the peninsula. Due to problems in the power grid, commuter train service on the Saki–Yevpatoria and Yevpatoria–Saki routes has been temporarily suspended.
The occupying authorities claim that power has already been partially restored in Inkerman, Kacha, Orlovka, Andreevka, Orlin, and parts of Crimea’s Southern Coast.
At the same time, according to preliminary estimates, the Leninsky and Gagarin districts of Sevastopol will remain without power until at least this evening. The occupying administration has not disclosed the number of consumers left without power.
It is noted that in recent days, the occupied Crimea has experienced power outages, fuel shortages, and logistical problems. Rolling blackouts have been implemented on the peninsula, and the occupying authorities have reported restrictions on public transportation and social services.
Ukrainian defense forces have carried out a series of strikes against military, fuel, and logistics facilities of Russian troops. In particular, there were reports of infrastructure being destroyed in the Kerch, Feodosia, and Sevastopol areas, as well as damage to the bridge across the North Crimean Canal, which was used to supply Russian troops.
