The air force bombed missile and drone storage facilities.
The U.S. military attacked Iran following an Iranian drone strike on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by Reuters.
U.S. Central Command stated that the air force carried out strikes on missile and drone storage facilities, as well as on coastal radar stations, later releasing a blurry black-and-white video of the explosion labeled “unclassified.” A U.S. official announced the completion of the operation.
Iran stated that a missile struck the area around the pier in Sirik in the south of the country, and that the Iranian Navy responded with a strike against U.S. military targets in that region. Tehran did not provide details on what exactly might have been hit.
Both countries accused each other of violating the terms of the ceasefire agreement reached last week.
As a reminder, on June 26, Donald Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social: “The Islamic Republic of Iran launched at least four kamikaze drones at ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.”
