A Russian drone attacked a car carrying a politician.
Former People's Deputy of Ukraine, chairman of the Svoboda party and soldier Oleh Tyahnybok was wounded at the front as a result of a Russian drone attack.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the message of the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Marcinkiv in Telegram.
"Oleg Tyahnybok was wounded at the front. He, along with his fellow soldiers, was in the same car that was hit by an enemy drone. We wish him recovery," the message said.
Now Tyahnybok's life is not threatened.
Subsequently, details of the incident were given by the deputy company commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the 128th brigade Timur Knysh, Lviv's NTA TV channel reported.
He said that a Russian FPV drone attacked the car Tyahnybok was in. Thanks to the driver's quick actions and speed of movement, much more severe consequences were avoided.
"Thanks to the driver's skill and speed of movement, the injury is non-fatal. But a good concussion with all the consequences is a barotrauma and concussion. But the man is alive," said Senior Lieutenant Knysh.
What is known about Tyahnybok
Oleh Tyahnybok is the chairman of the All-Ukrainian Association "Svoboda", a former people's deputy of Ukraine and a presidential candidate in the 2010 and 2014 elections.
After the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, he announced the suspension of the party's political activities for the period of martial law and joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In 2025, Tyahnybok was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel and appointed commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the Wild Field brigade.
