Belarusian actor Ivan Kushneruk, who previously performed at the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater, has died. The actor’s friends announced his death on social media.

Ivan Kushneruk was 34 years old. According to available information, he passed away on June 27, but the news has only just come to light.

The aspiring actor was born in 1991 in Luninets. He represented a new generation of Belarusian theater artists who entered the profession in the 2010s. After graduating from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts in 2015, Kushneruk was accepted into the troupe of the Kupala Theater.

Over the years on stage, he has appeared in productions such as “Zavalnya the Nobleman, or Belarus in Fantastic Tales,” “The Executioners,” “Two Souls,” “The School for Taxpayers,” “The First,” and other productions.

In addition to his work at the state theater, Ivan Kushneruk actively participated in independent projects with the theater company “Art-Corporation.” One of his most notable works was the play “The Guardians of the Taj Mahal,” directed by Alexander Yanushkevich, which brought the actor widespread recognition. His colleagues called Kushneruk one of the most talented and promising figures on the Belarusian theater scene.

In 2020, Ivan Kushneruk left the Kupalov Theater along with most of the troupe following a mass layoff of actors. According to his colleagues, shortly before his death, he was rehearsing the role of Marc Chagall for a new theater project.
